The article I chose is about leaders from over 30 Latin American and Caribbean nations meeting in Mexico to launch a group that will be independent of the Organization of American States. The meeting is called The Unity Summit of Latin America and the Caribbean. An important aspect of this new group is that the United States and Canada will not be members. These leaders have been meeting since 1986 when the Rio Group was created. The summit happening now is intending to put the Rio Group on a new level. A few other political topics such as recognizing Porfirio Lobo as the president of Honduras and the feud between Argentina and Great Britain over oil drilling.
